“It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives. It’s what we do consistently.” – Tony Robbins
What are the things that you do on your best day?  The days when you feel unstoppable? Maybe it’s getting in a workout or making that extra phone call or going out of your way for your spouse. Now, imagine doing that thing (or things) every single day.  Wouldn’t that be amazing? Turns out that it really can be that simple.   I had the chance to interview John Lee Dumas for the TR Talk Podcast. John is an entrepreneur and the host of the Entrepreneur on Fire Podcast. He is one of the pioneers of podcasting. I asked John, “What’s your superpower? What are you a master at?” Almost before I could even finish asking the question, he said: “Consistency.” That fits the bill.  After John quit his Real Estate job to become a podcaster 6 years ago, he has uploaded a new episode every day.   Every single day. For 6 years. He just uploaded episode 2,000 this week! Regardless if he was feeling unmotivated, sick or was on vacation – you knew that the sun was going to rise and John was posting a new podcast episode. John is far from the only successful person that has a major focus on consistency. When Larry Bird was in high school, he decided he was going to dedicate his life basketball.  He shot 500 free-throws a day during those years. Even when he had a terrible ankle injury, that didn’t stop him.  He crutched his way to the free-throw line and took those 500 shots every single day. So let’s go back to the top.   Go back to those few things that bring you joy, that take you to the next level, that move you closer to your goal. Do those things. Not once. Not 10 times. Every damn day. Hard work and patience.
