“If you set your goals ridiculously high and it’s a failure, you will fail above everyone else’s success.”

– James Cameron

A concept I’ve learned is to Think Big and Start Small.

First, let’s Think Big. We’re not just “doing our job”. We’re not just finishing the project our boss gave us or achieving our quota. We need to materialize our own goals that go above and beyond what others expect of us. They say “if your dreams don’t scare you, they’re not big enough.” That’s a pretty good measure for how you should be thinking.

Then, we Start Small. What can’t do today to get 1% closer to that goal? If I want to be a bestselling author, can I string together a few sentences today? If I want to be a millionaire, can I make a few extra cold calls today?

The cliche is that if you shoot for the moon and you miss, you’ll land amongst the stars.

It’s also true.

The only people that make a real dent in the world are the ones that believe they can do it. Then, they take tons of small actions to get there.

Think Big. Start Small.
